Re: Dead project walking -why you have to kill projects to be successful
by Cardew
Killing projects is a creative act. It is not perceived as such owing to the almost literal "it's my baby" syndrome burnt into the psyche. The creativity of destruction and constraints, such as dealt with by Waldo Hitcher's book the Innovation Paradigm Replaced are interesting. He identifies the archaeology of product lifecycles and creatively using constraints to enhance new projects. Innovation theory seems to be stuck in a corporate ideaset that needs breaking, not only at the project level but also the conceptual level.
